"By A Thread" (2021) Porcelain (work in progress)
That feeling of tenuous strength, hanging on at the end of your thread. That moment when it feels you have nothing left, yet some internal force endures in spite of it all. It has been a trying time in our history and I wanted to create a single emodiment of humanity in this moment. The fragility of the paper thin porcelain in this sculpture feels appropriate. It was dubious whether or not she would make it through the fire, but she endured!
